Trash To Treasure: Upcycled Desk

Over the summer I walked outside and saw that my neighbor was throwing out this beautiful desk. So i asked him if I could take it and he was more than happy to say yes.

It was beat! Sun damage, water damage, the wood was split.
What I did:
1) I put paint remover in order to remove the laquer
2) Sanded every single inch
3) With wood glue and wood filler fixed the splits and cracks
4) Stained it with a walnut stain
5) Used a pressurized spray gun to apply a satin polyeurathane protective coat
6) I also spray painted the handles black. They were this really beat up gold color.

After all that hard work you have this!

 Don't forget someone elses junk is somebodies treasure!! i couldn't be happier!

Lace And a Little Bit of Silver.

 I had made this bracelet a while back simple lace around my wrist and attached it to a small black rubber band for easy access

About a week later i came across this ring tutorial

 which has a bow similar to this one but i only really wear two rings and they were both given to me by my mother but i loooved the bow sooo what to do???

I used a 20 gauge wire and followed the instructions on the link above to make the bow
OOOh wait i know!!! add a little edge to that lace baby!!! and so i did:) i sewed the two loops with some white string and tadaaa!

My Old Worn Out Sandals

So i had these sandals that i bought last year. And of course like most things I've bought i was in looovee!

 Sooo i wanted something new and removed the gold metal peices 

and the huge stone 

and cut three pieces of ribbon two long and one slightly smaller i didnt measure i just went with my gut

then i  met the two ends at the middle and hot glued them in place

on the side where they met i put a dab of hot glue on each end and folded a tiny bit in

then turned it over to the side that would be displayed and applied a dab of hot glue to the center and folded it in

I repeated this step for the other two pieces of ribbon and on the other shoe of course but with the two larger bows i hot glued them side by side like so

I then glued the smaller one to the center and wrapped a small white ribbon around the middle. I also placed black rhinestones to the larger bows and silver ones to the smaller bows.(if youre confused check out the last picture for reference!) To place them on the shoe  was where i had trouble the metal pieces left a large triangle in the center and the bow didnt belong there so  cut the triangle into a strip

Painted it white! with acrylic paint

Then added some thin lace which i adhered with my handy dandy glue gun!

And lastly ladies and i  guess there could be gentleman the bows!!

And i proudly wore them to church the next day!!

whiter teeth in just five minutes???

Yes you read that right!! Having your teeth whitened at the dentist can be costly and even the strips now a-days are getting to be a little pricey. So for your sake i tried plus white 5 minute gel speed teeth whitening system. Let me just tell you this stuff is amazing i learned about it through kandee  johnson and i am in love. Just make it part of your daily routine she had a great idea of applying it while you shower. Want to know the best part?? it ranges from $7-$10!!! And its an easy find places like walmart carry it and walgreens.

DIY coaster

I wanted something unique that no one had... also something cheap and something that matched my room. So I went to lowes and bought two black 4x4 tiles which were like 70 cents and got the clear jewel stones from my local dollar tree and made this beauty!!

never thought this would happen

Well throughout the years i always thought i would never make a blog... well now it is 12:21 and here i am creating my first blog post. Feels very different to me. And all i want from this is to share the love of crafting on a budget and share the love for pink!!!
